Calorie Forest Privacy Policy

wehahee ("we", "us") establishes and discloses this Privacy Policy to protect your personal information and to handle related concerns promptly, in accordance with Article 30 of the Personal Information Protection Act of Korea. This policy applies to the mobile app "Calorie Forest" ("the app").
The app grows a forest on your planets from the calories you burn. The app processes health data only on your device and never sends it to anyone, including us. The app has no sign-up and no server. Only if you agree, the app sends which screens you open and whether you planted or opened a resident box, without your name or email, to an analytics tool (Section 9).
1. Purposes of processing
(1) We process personal information only for the following purpose, and will take the steps required by law before using it for any other purpose.
- Handling inquiries and complaints — receiving and answering questions and complaints sent by email
- Improving the service — analyzing app usage of users who agreed (which screens are used, where people get stuck) and improving app stability (Section 9)
(2) On your device, the app processes health data and app data for the following purposes. This information is not sent to us (Section 2(2)).
- Turning your daily active calories into seeds (1 kcal = one seed) and showing what you have planted
- Showing your history and statistics
(3) Health data is never used for advertising, marketing, or data mining.
2. Information processed and how it is obtained
(1) Information we collect:

(2) Information the app processes only on your device — this information stays on your device and is not sent to us or to the analytics tool (Section 9). We cannot view or receive it.

(3) Data you entered manually in Apple Health is excluded from seed calculations.
(4) We and the app do not collect national ID numbers, GPS location, contacts, photos, the advertising identifier (IDFA), or the identifier for vendor (IDFV), and the app does not request App Tracking Transparency permission. App usage records sent to the analytics tool never include health data such as calories, or values derived from it such as seeds, planted counts, or planet progress. We do not collect personal information from children under 14, and only people aged 14 or older may agree to send app usage records.
3. Retention
(1) Inquiry information is kept for one year from the day the inquiry is handled (in case the same issue comes up again or a dispute arises) and then deleted without delay, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.
(2) App usage records (Section 2(1)) are kept by the analytics tool for 2 months and then deleted (statistics that cannot identify you may remain).
(3) Information the app processes on your device (Section 2(2)) stays on your device until you delete the app.
(4) App data is not uploaded to iCloud (CloudKit or iCloud Drive) and is excluded from device backups (iCloud Backup and computer backups). As a result, your forest cannot be restored if you switch devices or reinstall the app. Your original records remain in Apple Health.
4. Sharing with third parties
(1) We do not share personal information with third parties, except with your separate consent or where the law specifically requires it.
(2) The app contains Google Firebase Analytics as its analytics tool, which works only if you agree (Sections 5 and 9). It contains no advertising or crash-reporting SDKs. If that changes, we will revise this policy first and give notice under Section 13.
(3) In-app purchases are processed by Apple. We do not receive payment information.
5. Processors and international transfers
(1) To handle inquiries and improve the service, we entrust the processing of personal information to the following provider outside Korea.

(2) You may refuse these transfers. App usage records are not sent if you tap "Decline" on the banner when first asked, or turn off "Share app usage" in Settings (the gear on the Planet screen); this does not affect your use of the app. You may refuse the transfer of inquiry emails by contacting us (Section 10), but because we accept inquiries only by email, we will then be unable to receive your inquiries by email.
(3) Information the app processes on your device (Section 2(2)) is neither entrusted to processors nor transferred abroad.
6. Deletion
(1) We delete personal information without delay once it is no longer needed, such as when the retention period ends or the purpose has been achieved.
(2) Inquiry emails are permanently deleted from the email service, including the trash. App usage records are deleted automatically by the analytics tool when the retention period (Section 3) ends.
(3) Information the app processes on your device is deleted by the operating system when you delete the app. We have no access to it and so cannot delete it on your behalf.
7. Your rights and how to exercise them
(1) You may at any time ask us to access, correct, delete, or stop processing your inquiry information (Section 2(1)), or withdraw your consent. You can withdraw consent to sending app usage records at any time in Settings (the gear on the Planet screen). App usage records are stored only under a random identifier, without your name or email, so we cannot find a specific person's records and may be unable to fulfill access or deletion requests for them.
(2) Contact us by email (Section 10), and we will act without delay.
(3) You may also exercise these rights through a legal representative or an authorized agent.
(4) Requests for access and similar rights may be limited under applicable law.
(5) We do not hold the information the app processes on your device (Section 2(2)), so you control it directly. Deleting the app deletes all of it. You can revoke health data access at any time: Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Calorie Forest. New seeds will stop, and the forest you already grew will remain.
8. Automatic collection tools
(1) The app does not use cookies.
(2) App data is stored only in the app's own storage (database) on your device and is not transmitted over the internet.
(3) If you agree, the analytics tool (Google Firebase Analytics) collects and sends app usage records from within the app. It does not work before you agree, and you can turn it off in Settings (Section 9).
9. Behavioral information
(1) To improve the service, and only if you agree, we collect information about how you use the app through Google LLC's analytics tool "Firebase Analytics".
- Items: screens opened (tab names), the fact and time that you planted or opened a resident box, and the automatically collected items in Section 2(1). Because planting and opening boxes require seeds, these can suggest that you were active that day
- Not collected: health data such as calories and workouts, values derived from it such as seeds, planted counts, planet progress, or residents from boxes, name or email, the advertising identifier (IDFA) or IDFV
- Method: automatic collection by the analytics tool in the app — the app's code fixes which screen and feature names can be sent, and nothing else is sent
- Purpose: analyzing and improving usability. Not used for personalized advertising; the tool's advertising features (advertising identifier, ad storage and ad personalization consent, Google signals) are turned off
- Retention: 2 months (Section 3)
- How to refuse: tap "Decline" on the banner when first asked, or turn off "Share app usage" in Settings (the gear on the Planet screen). You can still use every feature of the app
(2) We do not show personalized advertising.
(3) Only if you have turned on "Share with App Developers" on your device, Apple provides app developers with usage statistics and crash reports that do not identify you, under Apple's privacy policy. We use them only to keep the app stable and improve it. To turn this off: Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Share with App Developers.
10. Privacy officer
We have designated the following privacy officer to oversee the processing of personal information and to handle complaints and requests for redress. Contact the officer about any privacy question, complaint, redress, or access request, and we will respond without delay.

11. Security measures
We take the following measures to protect personal information.
- Technical — the app has no function that sends health data or app data off your device; the screen and feature names that can be sent to the analytics tool are limited by an allowlist in the app's code, and the tool is off until you agree; the advertising identifier is excluded from the app; data is stored under iOS app sandboxing and device data protection (encryption); app data is excluded from iCloud uploads and device backups; health values are not written to app logs; links that open the app from outside can open only allowed screens
- Administrative — health data is never used for advertising, marketing, or data mining; before any feature that would send data off your device, we revise this policy first and ask for your consent (Section 13)
- Physical — the only personal information we hold is inquiry email and app usage records, which are protected by the physical access controls of the providers' data centers (Section 5)
12. Remedies
If your privacy rights are infringed, you may seek dispute resolution or counseling from the following Korean authorities.

13. Changes to this policy
(1) This policy takes effect on September 28, 2026.
(2) If this policy is added to, removed from, or modified, we will post notice in the app and on this page at least 7 days before the change takes effect (30 days for changes material to your rights).
(3) Any change that would send data off your device (for example, accounts or sync) will be announced in the app and will require your consent before it takes effect.
